MISSION IMPACT
Listeners reached through our catalogue of ten excellent devotional Catholic music albums.
Formed through workshops, retreats, classrooms, parish & diocese consulting, online classes, and more.
Served through mission nights, bringing top-tier live music prayer experiences to even the smallest parishes throughout the US and Europe.
Beginning with the release of Ave Maria Press's Way of the Star Journal by Andrea Thomas and Greg Boudreaux (Fall 2026), The Vigil Project begins a new intitative of publishing resources to aid Catholic prayer in music. In February 2027, Word on Fire will publish Musica Domestica by our own Andrew Goldstein and co-author David Clayton, helping an entire generation of Catholics know and understand a repertoire of song and sung prayer in the domestic church. We are in the process of writing a new book to serve as the definitive handbook for musicians desiring to restore Catholic music in the parish, home, and missionary space.
After six years of production and tedious refinement, The Vigil Project and 4PM Media take you on an eight-episode film journey through the gift of music in the life of faith. Meaning of Music features an unmatched cast of musicians, theologians, clergy and more (including Bishop Robert Barron, Matt Maher, Steffany Gretzinger, Stephen Curtis Chapman, The Hillbilly Thomists, the monks of Solesmes Abbey, and many more) The Vigil Project travels the world to pose a timely question for our Church: Why does God give us music, and what do we do with this gift? The film is tenatively scheduled for public release in late 2027.
As a core part of our apostolate, The Vigil Project will continue to write music for the Catholic journey. In January 2027, we will release a vinyl and digital album recorded live during our 10th Anniversary Concert, and over the Spring months we are writing music for the Sacred Paschal Triduum in partnership with Fr. Mark Toups and Our Lady of the Isle (Grand Isle, LA). Our studio is actively writing the film score for 10th Hour Production's Bernadette. New singles and brand new lyrical album are on the horizon.
We are thrilled to announce that after nearly a decade of forming Catholic musicians for ministry, The Vigil Project and the Archdiocese of Modena (Italy) are collaborating on a brand new Institute for Catholic Musicians, to launch in Summer 2028. This six week alternative to a university degree will train Catholic musicians for ministry in the parish, missionary space, and home, providing them deep intellectual, spiritual and musical training and establishing a strong start to their early-career output. Beginning in January 2027, we will take applications for this competitive cohort of 25 students.
Music impacts the work of the whole Church— from liturgy to evangelization — because the way we sing as a Church directly affects the way we pray as a Church! So why is it that music is one of the most divisive topics in many parishes nowadays?
The Vigil Project invites you to be 1 of a 1,000 voices that come together to support the holistic renewal of Catholics praying in song. Over the next year — our 10th anniversary at The Vigil Project — we invite a group of patrons and intecesors to:
-
Pray together with music, and pray for the efforts of our ministry
-
Grow in understanding of music’s role in faith
-
Support The Vigil Project’s renewal efforts in homes, parishes, and dioceses
Your gift will help The Vigil Project to:
-
Bring on new staff to support our parish and diocese ministry team, allowing more Catholic communities to grow in their understanding of Catholic music
-
Create new resources to teach hymns, chants, praise & worship, and psalmody to households, in partnership with Word on Fire
-
Release our eight-episode film, Meaning of Music, featuring Matt Maher, Bishop Barron, the Monks of Solesmes, Paul Jernberg, and many more
-
Invest in essential equipment to record new devotional music for Catholic listeners
This is not a campaign about money. This is a campaign about transformation. When you become 1 of 1,000 voices, you are signing up for a year of praying through song, and enable communities around the globe to pray through song as well.
